Terms of Service

1. Introduction

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the services provided by PI Engineering & Technology ("the Company", "we", "our", or "us"). By engaging our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. Please read them carefully.

2. Services

PI Engineering & Technology provides engineering consultancy services including, but not limited to: 3D modelling and design, non-destructive testing (NDT), inspection services, and workflow optimisation solutions. The specific scope, deliverables, and terms of each engagement will be set out in a separate written agreement or statement of work.

3. Quotations and Fees

All quotations are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise stated. Fees for services will be agreed in writing prior to commencement of work. Unless otherwise specified:

  • Payment terms are 30 days from invoice date
  • Expenses incurred in the delivery of services will be recharged at cost
  • Travel time may be charged at an agreed rate where applicable

4. Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, intellectual property rights in deliverables created specifically for a client shall transfer to the client upon full payment. We retain the right to use general knowledge, skills, and experience gained during the engagement, and to use non-confidential information for portfolio and marketing purposes.

5. Confidentiality

We treat all client information as confidential and will not disclose it to third parties except as required to perform the services, with your consent, or as required by law. This obligation survives the termination of any engagement.

6. Limitation of Liability

Our liability for any claim arising from or related to the services shall be limited to the fees paid for the specific services giving rise to the claim. We shall not be liable for:

  • Indirect, consequential, or special damages
  • Loss of profits, revenue, or anticipated savings
  • Loss of data or business interruption
  • Any damages arising from circumstances beyond our reasonable control

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

7. Professional Standards

All services are provided in accordance with relevant industry standards and best practices. Where applicable, work will be performed in accordance with specified codes and standards (e.g., ASME, ISO, IRATA guidelines). Certification and qualification details are available upon request.

8. Termination

Either party may terminate an engagement by providing written notice. In the event of termination, fees for work completed up to the date of termination shall be payable. Any materials or work products created up to the point of termination shall be delivered to the client upon payment.

9. Cancellation Policy for Confirmed Assignments

Once an assignment has been confirmed in writing (including via email), the following cancellation terms apply. This policy recognises that confirmed assignments require the Consultant to commit time, decline alternative work opportunities, and often incur non-refundable expenses.

9.1 Expense Reimbursement

In the event of cancellation or postponement of a confirmed assignment, all expenses already incurred shall be reimbursed in full. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Flight bookings (including any change or cancellation fees)
  • Accommodation bookings (including any cancellation charges)
  • Travel arrangements (car hire, transfers, parking)
  • Visa and permit fees
  • Medical examinations and certifications
  • Training or refresher courses undertaken specifically for the assignment
  • Equipment or materials purchased for the assignment

9.2 Cancellation Fees

In addition to expense reimbursement, the following cancellation fees apply based on the notice provided:

  • More than 14 days notice: No cancellation fee (expenses only)
  • 7-14 days notice: 25% of the agreed assignment value
  • 48 hours to 7 days notice: 50% of the agreed assignment value
  • Less than 48 hours notice: 100% of the agreed assignment value

For assignments of variable duration, the "agreed assignment value" shall be calculated based on the minimum confirmed duration.

9.3 Postponement

If an assignment is postponed rather than cancelled, cancellation fees may be waived at our discretion if:

  • The new dates are confirmed within 5 working days
  • The postponement is less than 30 days from the original start date
  • The Consultant is available for the rescheduled dates

Any additional expenses incurred due to postponement (rebooking fees, price differences) remain payable by the Client.

10. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

11. Amendments

We reserve the right to update these Terms from time to time. The current version will always be available on our website. Continued use of our services following any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
